How to Download a SoundCloud Playlist

For DJs · Updated June 2026 · 4 min read

If you've curated a SoundCloud playlist of your own tracks, Creative Commons finds, or rights-cleared releases, sneakyDL can download all of them in one action — no manual track-by-track repetition. This guide covers how it works and what to expect.

How Playlist Download Works

Paste a SoundCloud playlist URL and sneakyDL automatically queues every track in the playlist — up to 100 tracks. Downloads run one at a time to keep things stable, so a 20-track playlist typically takes a few minutes. You'll see a live progress indicator for each track.

💡 One-at-a-time queue: Tracks download sequentially, not simultaneously. This prevents server overload and ensures every file completes cleanly before the next one starts.

Before You Start: Rights Check

⚠️ Playlist download amplifies the rights question — you need the legal right to copy every track in the playlist, not just some of them. If you're unsure about a specific track, download tracks individually and skip the ones you don't have rights to.

Playlists where batch download is appropriate:

Step-by-Step: Download a Playlist

  1. Open SoundCloud and navigate to the playlist you want to download.
  2. Copy the playlist URL from your browser. It will look like:
    https://soundcloud.com/yourname/sets/your-playlist-name
  3. Sign in to sneakydl.com.
  4. Paste the playlist URL into the download field.
  5. Select your format (MP3 for free trial; WAV, FLAC, and higher bitrate MP3 require Pro).
  6. Click Download. sneakyDL will detect it's a playlist and queue all tracks automatically.
  7. Each track downloads and saves to your chosen folder as it completes.

Format Recommendations for Playlists

After Downloading: Organising Your Library

A 20-track playlist generates 20 files. Keep them organised:

💡 sneakyDL embeds track title and artist metadata into MP3, FLAC, and M4A files automatically, so your DJ software will display the correct track information after import.

Troubleshooting

Some tracks in the playlist fail to download

This usually means a specific track is no longer publicly accessible on SoundCloud (deleted, set to private, or region-restricted). sneakyDL will skip failed tracks and continue with the rest. Check the batch download report at the end for a list of any tracks that couldn't be retrieved.

The playlist has more than 100 tracks

sneakyDL currently supports up to 100 tracks per playlist download. For larger playlists, split them into sub-playlists on SoundCloud and download each separately.
