Download SoundCloud Tracks for Serato DJ & Traktor
Serato DJ Pro and Traktor Pro both work with offline audio files — they don't stream from SoundCloud during a set. If you have tracks on SoundCloud that you want in your Serato or Traktor library, here's how to get them there cleanly.

Rights Check First
Only download content you have the legal right to copy. Common legitimate cases for DJs:
- Your own original productions uploaded to SoundCloud
- Tracks released under a Creative Commons licence
- Tracks where the SoundCloud artist has enabled free downloads
- Tracks you've purchased on Beatport, Bandcamp, or similar (though buying from those stores directly is a cleaner workflow)
Downloading for Serato DJ Pro
- Copy the SoundCloud URL of your track.
- Go to sneakydl.com and paste it into the download field.
- Select your format. For Serato: MP3 320kbps for standard use, or WAV if you want maximum waveform detail.
- Download and save to your Serato library folder (usually
Music/on Mac orMy Music/on Windows). - Open Serato. The track will appear in the Files panel if it's in a watched folder, or drag it directly into your library.
- Serato will analyse the track for BPM, key, and waveform on first play or when you right-click and select Analyse Files.
Downloading for Traktor Pro 3
- Copy the SoundCloud URL.
- Download via sneakydl.com — WAV or FLAC for best Traktor analysis, or MP3 320kbps.
- Place the file in your Traktor music root folder.
- In Traktor, go to Preferences › File Management › Music Folders and confirm your folder is listed.
- Click Rescan to import new files.
- Select the new track in the browser and press Analyse (Selection) or let it auto-analyse on first load.
Key Difference vs Serato SoundCloud Integration
Serato DJ Pro has a built-in SoundCloud streaming integration (requires a SoundCloud Go+ subscription). That integration lets you stream tracks live during a set, but it requires an internet connection and doesn't give you offline files for CDJ export or backup.
Downloading via sneakyDL gives you a permanent local file you own — useful for offline gigs, exporting to a USB for CDJs, or building a backup library of your own content.
BPM and Key Analysis Tips
Serato
Serato's built-in BPM analysis is solid for most genres. For tracks with complex rhythms (swing, breakbeats), double-check and manually correct where needed. Use Set Beat Grid if the auto-analysis drifts.
Traktor
Traktor's key detection (Musical Key) is reliable. For BPM, if you get a doubled or halved reading, right-click the track in the browser and select Re-analyse with the BPM range set appropriately for your genre (e.g. 120–160 for house).
