Note: The DJ Set Tracklist tool extracts track titles from a mix description — it reads text, it does not download audio. No copyright issues apply to the extraction step itself. If you use the information to find and purchase tracks, please do so through legitimate stores.

How to Extract a DJ Mix Tracklist from SoundCloud

For DJs · Updated June 2026 · 4 min read

You've been listening to a DJ mix on SoundCloud and there's a track you need to identify. Or you've uploaded your own mix and want to quickly generate a structured tracklist. sneakyDL's DJ Set Tracklist tool parses the mix description automatically and returns every track title and artist it can find.

How It Works

Most serious DJs include a tracklist in their SoundCloud mix description — often in a format like:

01. Artist Name - Track Title 02. Another Artist - Another Track [Label] 03. DJ Name & Collab - Track Name (Original Mix)

sneakyDL reads the description text and applies pattern matching to extract structured Artist — Title pairs, handling common formatting variations like numbered lists, timestamps, dashes, and brackets.

Step-by-Step

  1. Go to sneakydl.com and sign in.
  2. Find the SoundCloud mix you want to extract the tracklist from.
  3. Copy the mix URL — it should look like: https://soundcloud.com/djname/mix-title
  4. In sneakyDL, open the DJ Set Tracklist tab.
  5. Paste the URL and click Extract Tracklist.
  6. sneakyDL reads the track description and returns the parsed list of tracks.
💡 The tracklist tool works on any mix that has a written tracklist in its description. If the mix has no description or just a block of text with no track listings, extraction results will be limited.

What Happens If the Description is Messy?

Real-world tracklists aren't always clean. sneakyDL handles common variations:

If you get partial results, you can copy the raw description text and clean it manually — the extracted list gives you a head start.

What To Do With the Tracklist

Identify tracks you want to buy

Use the extracted artist and title to search Beatport, Bandcamp, or your preferred store. Buying directly from stores ensures the artist gets paid and gives you a permanent licence to the file.

Add timestamps to your own mix

If you're the DJ who uploaded the mix, use the tracklist output to structure a description with timestamps — this improves engagement and helps listeners find specific tracks.

Build a crate in your DJ software

Copy the structured list into a text file and use it as a reference when building a matching crate in Rekordbox, Serato, or Traktor from your existing library.

A Note on Track Identification Without a Tracklist

If the mix has no description, the tracklist tool can't help — but you can use Shazam or SoundHound by playing the specific section of the mix you want to identify. Tunebat is also useful for identifying a track if you have an audio file.
